The smartLOXS card readers determine who can enter, where, and when. The smartLOXS card readers are specifically designed to work in logistical (harsh) environments, both indoors and outdoors. The card readers scan the smartLOXS cards (ACN card, smart ID or Visitor card) and send the encrypted information to the central system. The access rules are retrieved in the central system. If the card has access to a specific card reader, the barrier, turnstile or door will open automatically.
At some locations, it’s convenient to use a PIN code to gain access. This is often done in combination with a card reader. A PIN code can also serve as one-time access to a specific area. After use, the PIN code is revoked to prevent reuse.
QR readers are used to determine the pass holder’s purpose. QR codes are increasingly being used to supplement pass holder identity verification. The QR code records the pass holder’s purpose, while the pass itself identifies the pass holder.
To ensure fully automated access control at site gates, smartLOXS provides license plate recognition cameras that identify the vehicle’s license plate. The smartLOXS central system then determines whether the license plate is permitted on the site.
